Smt. Mathumathy Prakash is among the most inspired and dedicated Bharathanatyam exponents of her times with dancing experience of over three decades. She is a talented artist, and her most critically acclaimed items are Panchali Sabatham, Chinnanchiru Kizhiye and Navarasam. Nimble movements and the purity of her expressions, helped by her innate charisma and cheerfulness, create spellbinding magic, holding the audience in thrall.
She has been trained under the guidance of eminent gurus ‘Kalaimamani’ Chandra Dhandayuthapani Pillai and completed her arangetram in 1989. She has a Bachelor degree in dance from the Carnatic Music College, Chennai. She also has a Master’s degree. Since then she has performed extensively in concerts conducted by her guru, her school in India and in several other countries. She has danced in many dance festival in India.
Smt. Mathumathy Prakash is recipient of several awards such as ‘Natya Kalaimamani’ awarded by the Carnatic Music College, ‘Natya Thaaragai’, awarded by Salangai Oli and ‘Natya Kalarathna’ awarded by Natyanjali.
Smt. Mathumathy Prakash soon founded her own institution; ‘Mathuralaya’ – School of Bharathanatyam and Carnatic Music in 1990, and is actively engaged in imparting training to aspiring students.
She is also a renowned theatre artist and has been part of the famous Crazy Creations (Crazy Mohan’s troupe) for the past twenty years.
Gambeera Ganamurtham Shri. K S Prakash who is famously known as Delhi Prakash is a performer and teacher of Carnatic Music. His early training began in ThamizhilIsai Kalluri and was awarded Sangeetha Sironmani. He did his advance training through Karnatic Music Academy under the supervision of Sree. Rajam Iyer. He is also a Disciple of Sadhu Sree. Pithukuli Murugadas.
In addition, he has been a singer in the cine industry for the past 45 years and has been singing Thiru. T M Soundararajan’s songs in light music groups. He has sung in few films for Isaignani Illayaraja, M S Vishwanathan, Sharat and has sung in number of devotional cassettes for GDS. He has travelled to many countries as a singer, and has worked with music directors such as Shankar Ganesh, Deva, A R Rahman, Baratwaj, Dina and S A Rajkumar. He has been awarded Gambeera Ganamurtham by Shree. Pithukuli Murugadas and a proud owner of several TMS awards.
